Hull main objective is to remove the lag between this technical indicator and the price action, it almost eliminates the lag completely and manages to improve the smoothing of the trading indicator at the same time.

Hull can be used to trade Indices instead of the traditional Moving Average. The technical analysis of Hull is similar to that of the conventional MAs Moving Averages.
Hull averages uses the Moving Average Indices Price, Moving Average Periods, and MA Type inputs to calculate how to draw the indicator. These values are parameterized so that to allow a stock index trader full customization of the Hull Moving Average.
