Periodicity Tool Bar Menu in Trading Software

Periodicity just means timeframes, in MT4 this toolbar is used to choose which time-frames to trade with.

Periodicity Toolbar Menu in the MT4 - Stock Chart Time Frames MT4 - Index Trade Time-frames Beginner Traders

The time-frame listed are:

  1. 1 Min - M1
  2. 5 Min - M5
  3. 15 Min - M15
  4. 30 Minutes - M30
  5. 1H - 1H
  6. 4 Hour - H4
  7. Daily - D1
  8. Weekly - W1
  9. Monthly - MN

As a index trader you only require to trade with only about 3 chart time frames, for example let's say a indices trader only requires the 15 minute, the 1 hour and the 4 hours timeframe, then on the periodicity tool bar a trader can hide all the others which are not required using the following method.

How to Customize

To add a tool that's not listed above a trader has to follow these steps

  1. Right-Click at the tool-bar button to the left (Looks like a stack of coins), shown & illustrated below

2. Click on customize

After following the above steps the customize window popup will be shown like is illustrated and shown below:

Select/Choose Chart Time Frames and Remove Them from the Periodicity Toolbar on MT4 Platform - Chart Time Frames MT4

Select like displayed above & press remove button.

The window pop up then will look like:

Chart Time Frames Removed from Periodicity Toolbar in the MT4 Platform - Index Trade Periodicity Tool Bar Menu

On the platform the periodicity toolbar will now look like the illustrations illustrated and shown below:

Using the above setup as a stock index trader you as a trader can save space within your MetaTrader 4 software workspace by hiding the time-frames which you are not trading with.
